JOB DESCRIPTION

EIT Food is seeking a Bid Manager to support the development and submission of high-quality funding proposals across European programmes and philanthropic streams, including Horizon Europe, public tenders, and foundation grants. The role covers the full proposal lifecycle, from opportunity identification to submission, ensuring compliance, quality, and alignment. It involves close collaboration with internal experts in Biotech, Resilient Agriculture, Business Creation, Education, and Impact, as well as coordination with Partnership, Operations, and Finance teams to develop competitive proposals and consortia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support end-to-end bid development from opportunity review to submission
• Coordinate multiple concurrent bids, prioritising timelines and delivery
• Maintain and update bid pipeline in Salesforce with accurate tracking and reporting
• Draft, edit, and refine high-quality, compliant funding proposals
• Translate technical and programme input into clear, compelling narratives
• Ensure alignment with funder evaluation criteria and strengthen proposal quality
• Support compliance checks, quality assurance, and internal review processes
• Coordinate inputs across internal teams (programme, finance, legal) and external partners
• Monitor funding opportunities and support go/no-go decision-making
• Contribute to philanthropic and foundation funding proposals

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Experience supporting or managing bids for European funding programmes (e.g., Horizon Europe, Erasmus+)
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex information
• Experience with bid processes, pipeline management, and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Desirable

• Knowledge of areas such as regenerative agriculture, soil health, alternative proteins, biotechnology, and entrepreneurship
• Experience working across multi-partner consortia in a cross-business environment

LOCATION & TRAVEL FREQUENCY

This role can be based in any of our six locations: Belgium, UK, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain or Poland. To be eligible, you must be based in one of these locations and have the legal right to work there. Within your chosen location, we offer flexible working arrangements, including remote and hybrid options, depending on local policies and requirements.

Occasional travel within Europe.
